HTML HTML Basics Images, Text and Links Add Meaning to Words with Text Level Elements

strong tag usage question

Is it schematically correct to use strong tags around name, phone number, address words? Would a span tag be a better option and use css to style the elements?

1 Answer

In HTML, browsers will display tags the same way as tags, and the same as however these tags having different meanings. and represent bold and italic text respectively, whilst and imply the text is important. Search Engines can use this to help them understand webpages so if you're building a site with SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) in mind, then be careful how you use these tags because they may look the same but their meanings are different.

I am BOLD but important(strong tags)
I am BOLD (b tags)
I am ITALIC (i tags)
I am ITALIC but important(em tags)
